WELCOME!
thank you for your interest in pixels! the world needs a positive distraction right now, so we want to provide a friendly environment where people feel welcomed while having fun and being incredibly creative! like most places, the basic rules of roleplay apply here: please be mature, exercise general common sense, and make sure you don't blur the lines. if you see something and need help in any way, please do not hesitate to come to us! we promise to do the best we can to appease the situation and to answer any questions as soon as we are able!

APPLYING
first things first: choose a video game character! you can pick anyone that has an available wikipedia. we strongly recommend this page for all of our rules and guidelines on characters. usernames may be ic or ooc, so long as they remain relevant to your character with no excessive letters, numbers, or underscores! please provide us with a clean journal that consists of two entries: a backdated friend's only post and contact post. your contact post should include the following information about your character:
  • full name
  • alias (if applicable)
  • date of birth
  • hometown/planet
  • occupation
  • character claim (link to their wiki)
  • character background (a small blurb consisting of no less than 150 words)
additionally, we do require examples. examples should consist of two scenes and two narratives. please make sure that your application is complete when you submit it, that any examples you've linked in the dropbox are unlocked to the mod journal, and that you have requested membership to the subcomms.

a deleted application means you were rejected. typically, this means your examples weren't what we were looking for or we feel that you weren't a good fit for the community. it should be noted that we do excercise the right to refuse and deny inquiries about why an application was rejected.

ACTIVITY + REMOVALS
we want to keep things lax here, but participation will be vital to keeping this community alive! we ask that everyone be willing to contribute to group activities and branch out of their comfort zones to interact with other players!

once you've been accepted, you must post your introduction within three days of being added. this will count towards your monthly update requirement. if you've been accepted before the 15th, you will need to update twice a month. there are no length requirements at this time! however, at least one update should have comments enabled and the majority of them need to be replied to. all posts must be friends-locked and visible on the friends page, not backdated.

keep in mind: if you make a post and fail to reply to the majority of your comments after a week, you risk removals. additionally, if your friends list is out of date (two weeks+), you will be removed.

we will be tracking updates on a semi-monthly basis, rather than a rolling update schedule. each month, we will do two activity checks: once at the beginning of the month and once towards the middle of the month, approximately around the 14th-16th.

if you were removed for inactivity and wish to return within the first two weeks, you must provide an update when you reapply. please include this link in your application in lieu of examples. your updates cannot be backdated or hidden from the community. it must be visible for all to read!

EXTENSIONS + HIATUS
if you need a hiatus or an extension, please inform the mods and we will try to accommodate your schedule. we are understanding about personal issues and realize that real-life comes first, but try not to abuse this by barely clearing checks. should we notice players doing this, a warning will be issued. it should also be noted that we will not accept a hiatus or extension for two months back to back, and our current time is set at four weeks max.
